There have been many people in my life that I look up to, but one of the most important role models who I look up to is my grandfather. My grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer about 4 years ago. When he died, it was a hard time for my family because we were all very close with him. Even though he is gone now, we never forget about the memories shared, and the valuable lessons he has taught us.
He was very hardworking, and he never complained about his job. He actually liked to work. I remember when I was little; he would let me come visit him at his work, which was in a huge, tall building. He would spin me around in his swirly chair as I looked through the glass 500 feet down.
My grandfather was very selfless; he was always willing to help someone. If you needed him, you could always count on him to be there. I hope that people can trust me like they did with him.
He was a very strong person mentally, even when he was diagnosed with cancer. He didn’t complain about why he was the one who got cancer, he accepted it, and tried to make the best of it, just like Morrie. My grandfather taught me to always work hard at what I do, to be selfless and help others who are less fortunate, and to always make the best at what I am given in life.
